The most famous incarnation of Batgirl, Barbara Gordon first appeared in Detective Comics #359 (1966). In that adventure, she is dressed as a female version of Batman, on her way to a costume party. Happening upon an attempted kidnapping of Bruce Wayne by the villain Killer Moth, Barbara stops the crime and begins her career as Batgirl. This first appearance in comics heralded her almost simultaneous debut on the Batman TV show in the 60s where the character was played by Yvonne Craig. Since then, Batgirl has become one of the most popular female superheroes in the DC Universe.
Featuring the character in her original Batgirl costume, this bust is designed by Adam Hughes and sculpted by John G. Mathews. It stands 5.5” tall and is hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain.
