Parallax is a creature of pure demonic yellow energy, and also a divisive topic among long-time Green Lantern fans. During Parallax’s first appearance in Green Lantern Vol. 3 #59, the evil entity had already taken over Hal Jordan and caused him to go on a murderous rampage, thereby turning the superheroes of the DC Universe against him. This eventually led to Hal Jordan’s death, but he was resurrected later in Green Lantern: Rebirth, where he battled and defeated Parallax. Hal Jordan then reclaimed his place as the Green Lantern of Earth. Parallax was also the main threat in 2011’s Green Lantern movie.
